Even though I have been cooking for some years now, I had never made my own lemonade before, until now. I got inspired by reading a raspberry lemonade recipe in Jamie Magazine, and decided to try and make something myself, but based on cherries instead of raspberries. I must say, I quite like making my own drinks now. It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s delicious and the best part is that it’s as fresh as you can possible get. It only takes around minutes to make this, the only thing you have to do is squeeze lemons and put everything in a blender. Instant summer! Like this drink? There’s plenty more drinks coming this way as I rediscovered a really old (it’s from the 80s) book with great recipes for cocktails, smoothies, milkshakes and so on.
Makes: just a little over 1l lemonade
- juice of 2 lemons
- 150g sugar
- 350g cherries (pit-less and stems removed)
- 1l sparkling water
- loads of ice cubes
Easy! Squeeze your lemons, set up your blender and add everything apart form the ice cubes and sparkling water. Put the mash through a sieve and add water and ice cubes. Get your straws out and slurp away!
