Even though I’ve had my blog for almost 3 years now, I still feel like I’m more of a recipe maker than a blogger so I’m going to try and work a bit harder on sharing some stories from my life that don’t necessarily have anything to do with food but more with my new life in Ireland. I moved to Ireland 1,5 years ago and as much as I love it, I have been so busy with blogging, work, sorting everything like a house & car, visiting my family and so on that I feel like I haven’t explored as much as I wanted to. I have been visiting Ireland for 6 years now and I’m still not done being truly amazed by the beauty that can be found here. It’s hard to even pick my favourite spot in Ireland, but I do have a very big love for West-Cork & Kerry, it’s a stunning coast line!
Either way, now that my life has started to quiet down and i’m getting more settled, I am finding more time to go out more, and with Autumn upon us I am once again constantly stunned by the views. It’s a sigh to be seen, all the colourful leaves on the vast amount of trees, with green fields surrounding them and the sun shining bright upon it (because yes, we’ve barely had any rain the last months).
There’s plenty of places to visit still, but I recently went to Blarney Castle for an Autumn walk and I’d love to share some photos I took from my walk.
I have quite a few favourite spots in the castle grounds, and i’ve never actually visited the castle due to my massive fear of heights. My top 3 favourite spots have to be the waterfall below, the fern gardens and the flower tunnel. I absolutely love how diverse the plants, trees and flowers are that you can find on these grounds, and I’m always a sucker for waterfalls, even the small ones (and they have quite a few of them at Blarney Castle).
We’ve been quite lucky with the Autumn whether so far, as far as I can remember we’ve only had about 4 rainy days the last 2 months, which is quite amazing! When I went on my walk it was a very sunny day as well, which made my walk through the flower tunnel below even more amazing! After this we went down to the fern gardens, where it did suddenly start raining badly, but luckily we were protected by the trees and we barely got any rain on us.
